What’s worse she’s top of the list just because she has Type2 diabetes and is therefore apparently disabled so automatically tops the list. What sort of discrimination is that?☹️ Joan McAlpine is streets ahead of her but now may miss out on re-election. Bonkers.

One thing that appears to be overlooked and it's the elephant in the room is the 2014 White Paper. She constantly refers to this in recent interviews as an example of fully costed prospectus, but as we all know it was through rose tinted spectacles at best. The huge reliance on the volatile oil revenue was a major criticism at the time which has has been proven to be a real and valid issue with oil's subsequent collapse.

But on top of that are the other same old issues, currency, economy and the EU which are now all significantly bigger issues tan back in 2014. All of these were also part of that prospectus and have never been addressed. The long heralded Growth Commission was an attempt but buried as it exposes the realities of austerity and was unpalatable though still having rose tinted specs on.

Another huge issue is that GERS was used as a "gold standard" for that document and is now being discredited by the SNP Government that has full control of the production of the reports. How can this position possibly be taken seriously?

Therefore how can she use that document as evidence for her providing anything of value for "the people of Scotland" on a future referendum?

It exposes the dearth of any "case" and how badly the SNP are at any forecasting, and in terms of their actual performance in Government.

One final thought - business. There have been several successful Scottish businesses harassed and targeted by "Independence" supports for their marketing choices using the Union Flag on products e.g. Walkers, Mackie's, Bells etc., Nicola Sturgeon and the SNP have done nothing to support these businesses against these bigots. Yet our economy needs more successful companies to address the black hole in our economy to enable their own ideological dream. This just highlights how narrow minded and self defeating the SNP and their supporters are, and definitely highlights that Sturgeon is not fit to be our countries FM when she allows such ignorance to go unchallenged.

Excellent and highly informative analysis, Blair - thanks. It was interesting to see Lesley Riddoch describe the interview as a triumph for Sturgeon (or something like that). I don't think Riddoch is under the spell of the cult, so I can only assume she was putting on a brave face for the benefit of those in her audience who are.
