I find it bizarre that you would call Boris Johnson a nationalist! Also Nicola Sturgeon - a nationalist! Lol!

Interesting poll, with equally interesting implications for potential tactical voting (and transfers in STV elections. )Where, as in many cases, the SNP are the largest single party but under 50%, with Labour and Tory battling to be the main challengers, what happens may depend on which one succeeds.

If the Tories are seen as the main challenger and Labour's vote is squeezed, roughly equal numbers of Labour voters will consider voting Tory or consider voting SNP. That's good news for the SNP, who can hold on in those circumstances, picking up as many tactical voters as the Tories.

But if Labour is the main challenger with the Tories out of contention - nearly five times as many Tories would consider voting Labour as would vote SNP. Enough in many cases to take Labour into first place.

It's one more reason why the SNP love having the Tories as their main opponent.

Another helpful and for Labour hopeful polling. With strong evidence that a majority of voters do not want a referendum when there are more pressing problems makes Labours consistent messaging look more effective
