It's of course good to see Neil Mackay write an article which cuts to the chase about the ineptitude of the SNP, but why has it taken so long? He and colleagues at the Herald have been cheerleaders for the SNP despite the litany of high profile failure, active suppression and silencing of dissent and criticism.

Nothing he says is new, it's been obvious to anyone who looks objectively at the state of mis-governance and under the blanket of PR fed propaganda.

It's high time the SNP were properly held to account by our media, instead of being used as a cash cow for the Neverending Never-endum click bait articles bulking up the pages and screen time.

So is this the start of the overdue exposure of the one issue SNP, their new establishment and cozy commentariot?

There are two possibilities in my view …..firstly , the SNP by ensuring this possibility is leaked out they are simply testing the water to discover the public’s reaction ….or secondly, they have already decided to go down the private health route and it will be introduced after independence when of course we would have no choice . Either way it’s not a voter winner particularly amongst Ms Sturgeon’s supporters .

Despite being born in England I have lived in Australia since I was 10 so maybe I am just totally out of touch with what people there think (despite closely following UK politics) but it seems to me that after now 7 or 8 years with Govts focused on constitutional issues, whether it be Brexit or Independence while the basic provision of Govt Services from the NHS to Roads and Schools, seems to be falling apart that the average normie voter is just about sick of all this stuff

I know the online-politics types obsess about Brexit & Indy, but I am not talking about them, I am referring to just your average middle-aged not too-online normie voter who just wants the potholes fixed, a GP Appt on time and the bus to turn up every 20 minutes or so, surely there is a critical mass of those voters who can be reached now? Surely a campaign message of 'we will fix the roads, fund the health service and get Inflation under control, that will be our focus' can be a winning message?
