I'm a relatively recent subscriber and enjoying these articles, which are picking apart the absurdity of the SNP position.

There are 2 key things that would become "game changers" in my view. Firstly, the opposition (pro Union) parties need to collectively "hold their noses" and try to work together more coherently as they did as part of the Better Together campaign. The election is shaping up to be a referendum about a referendum and they need to try to set differences to one side to confront what is effectively a one party state at the moment.

Secondly, there needs to be a shift in the Scottish mainstream media position. The lack of proper questioning of Sturgeon, Swinney, Freeman etc is incredible for a government that has been in place for so long, with such a poor record. Perhaps the Salmond enquiry will change this, however I'm not optimistic if the BBC coverage last weekend is anything to go by.

Blair, excellent article. In the Coming The Books section, there's a typo ( shout ):

We’re asked to believe the country we would have just given two-fingers to will shout us for the single largest item of public expenditure.

Spot on about the need to deny the two nationalist parties a majority at the upcoming election. If they get one then one of two things happen - a constitutional stalemate similar to Catalonia if Johnson sticks to his word or a repeat of Brexit if he and Nicola can come to an accommodation which effectively carves up the UK between them.

On the other hand, the loss of the immediate prospect of another referendum and Brexit 2 would cause the tensions in the SNP to explode. This would open up the possibility of a multi-party government which would actually be a team instead of the current one-woman band. We might get something done about our long-neglected education system, now knocked sideways by the pandemic.
